How to Add Products to Katalo (Step by Step)

Once your store is set up, the first — and most important — step is adding products to your catalog. In Katalo, the process is fast and requires no technical skills: just a product photo from your phone, a price, and your product is live in your online catalog.
This guide walks you through how to add products in Katalo, from the first click to your product going live, with an explanation of every field.
Before You Start
Make sure you have a Katalo account and are logged in to your dashboard. If not, sign up — it's free and takes only a few minutes.
Steps to Add a Product
1Open Catalog → Products
From your dashboard, open Catalog → Products in the sidebar. This is where all your store's products are listed.
2Click "Add product"
Click the Add product button in the top right corner. A panel labeled "Add Product" will slide open from the right side of the screen.
3Upload a product photo
In the Image section, upload one or more photos of your product. Bright, clear photos make a big difference — customers are much more likely to order when they can see exactly what they're getting.
4Enter the product name and description
Fill in the Product name (e.g. Spicy Fried Rice) and a short Description — mention size, ingredients, or anything customers frequently ask about.
5Set the price and discount
Enter the product Price. If there's a promotion, fill in the Discount field — the Final price is calculated automatically. The currency follows your store settings (change it under Settings → Store).
6Choose a category & set visibility
Pick a Category so customers can filter to find the right products. Then set:
- Availability — mark as Available (Yes/No) to show stock status.
- Active — toggle Show this product so it appears in the catalog.
- Best Seller — add a best seller badge to highlight your top products.
Use the Card Preview panel on the right to see how the product will look before saving.
7Save the product
When everything looks good, click Add product at the bottom of the panel. A confirmation notification appears and your product is live in your online catalog instantly — no approval needed.
Tips for Adding Products
- Keep photos consistent. Use the same background and lighting across products — it makes your catalog look clean and professional.
- Use categories from the start. If you plan to have many products, group them into categories early so the catalog stays easy to browse.
- Use Best Seller sparingly. Mark only 2–3 hero products so the badge stays meaningful.
- Mark sold-out products. Turn off Availability when stock runs out so customers don't order something you can't fulfil.
